Presented by our partner
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to a systemic problem like climate change. The causes of climate change lie in our lifestyles and consumption patterns (explosion of GHGs) and also impact all sectors of activity. Aware of the omnipresence and cross-cutting nature of the issue, impact entrepreneurs have decided to make it their priority and even the raison d'être of their company. Whether they are proposing solutions to reduce GHGs (mitigation) or offering services to enable our societies to adapt to current and future upheavals (adaptation), these 2.0 entrepreneurs are more concerned with the common good than with making a profit. From this positioning, new entrepreneurial practices are emerging, which challenge the sole pursuit of profit or the competitive approach.A panel in collaboration with the JCCM.

Anjali
Caillat
After working in the corporate events industry for nearly 15 years, with a marked shift towards eco-responsible event planning, Anjali has decided to leave her chosen field to join Alterum in November 2021. Eager to take action against climate change, she and her team mobilize companies around issues such as GHG reduction, decarbonization, electrification and data sharing.

Declan
Rankin Garden
In his youth, Declan travelled west each summer to work for Bruce, a commercial beekeeper. In 2012, Declan brought a single hive to his garden and before long, curious neighbours were poking their heads over the fence to watch and ask questions about the bees. Seeing the potential to educate people about beekeeping, Declan and his co-founders Etienne and Alex founded Alvéole the following year and began teaching the art of beekeeping so that people could produce honey in their own backyards. Alvéole has since expanded to over 30 major cities in Canada, the United States and Europe.
